I do not think it's related to 64-Bit Windows. I tested and got the AV with Delphi 7 and Delphi 2010 on XP-Pro SP3 (fully patched), PentiumD DualCore, as well as with Delphi 2010 on Win7 64-Bit, i5 QuadCore. Tested on real machines.
