Then how do you explain the exact same problem between two completely
different environments (people and machines) and from someone that has
used the packages for years?

I too found the USE_SSL defined in the compiler options therefore I
assumed that USE_SSL was defined. However that is not the case if it has
to be added to inc file.

ICS is an excellent package and I have used it extensively over the
years and have never had a problem with installing it in any version of
Delphi before. Heck, I have never even have had a problem using any of
the components that I have used that I can recall.

The support on this list is fantastic and is on par if not exceeds any
paid support I have ever experienced not to mention the wealth of
knowledge I have gained in my programming with Delphi.

Don't get me wrong Arno; Francois, you and TEAM ICS have provided a
great component collection and support for the Delphi community and I
really don't know how I would have solved some of my problems without it
however don't be so quick to assume that it is user error when something
goes wrong.

Definitely, all the packages mentioned in this thread build and install
fine on my different systems XP, W2K, VM, real box etc. and different
Delphi
versions. If they do not work for you they must be buggy of course
(sarcasm,
sorry).
