I'm using SVN together with TortoiseSvn each day in my work for more than a year now. Did not have any serious problems since (the only thing that I stumbled over is the filename case-sensitivity issue - but that is the same for CVS AFAIK). One big advantage of SVN in my opinion is the fact that it does not require a server process. This comes handy for smaller projects, e.g. if I am the only developer or all developers are in the same LAN.
