I suppose it depends on what you mean by support. Libraries like paramiko and conch provide an actual protocol implementation in Python, which means you can do some interesting things with channels. Otherwise it seems you're stuck with an expect like model for driving the ssh1 binary. Pexpect provides some built in support for driving ssh this way: http://pexpect.sourceforge.net/pxssh.html
