I’m not really worried that he would win the Democratic nomination for president in 2028 (though I felt that way about a certain TV clown in 2015 too). It’s nit that Trump was a more serious or plausible candidate than Trump, but that the mean of the US electorate has always been Center-Right, so a disrupter from the Right will always have a better t Chance (not that I assume Smith himself is something I would recognize as a liberal ).
