“The Other Two” is a new series on Comedy Central that’s a little uneven in the pilot but gets some great laughs. Only the pilot is available to stream on the Comedy Central app. It focuses on the older brother and sister of a 13-year-old who gets a show biz career when he makes a viral music video, “I’ll Marry You at Recess.” Both of the older siblings had tastes of success with show biz but aren’t making it now. I liked Helene York best as the older sister, a former professional dancer working as a struggling real estate agent. She seemed to be in most of the better scenes of the pilot. Drew Tarver is the older brother struggling as an actor. The jokes for him in the pilot were mostly meh. I don’t watch a lot of network television, so this is probably not true for regular viewers. But “The Other Two” had the most sexually explicit gay make out scene -- between Tarver and his roommate -- of anything I’ve seen on TV. I liked the dynamic between the siblings and it the writing is often sharp. I wish I could stream the other episodes to see how it develops.
