I am totally clueless, and disgust with my nail hygiene, and delight at how awkward she knew I would be, is why my daughter got it for me (she went with me). I would encourage any guy who has avoided it to give it a try though - totally worth it. They recommend once a month, which I will not be doing, but I would not be against doing it maybe 4X a year. I would also say the pedi is even more worth it than the mani.
