This has been in the works for a while now. What passes for historic
preservation in the area has been trying to ensure that whatever goes in
its place (most likely overpriced residential) somehow retains the
distinctive shape of the entrance/facade, but I don’t think any of the
potential buyers were interested in the industrial/modern style.

I worked on several shows at TV City and attended several tapings of
Ferguson’s show as well, but the lot never had the same sense of community
or even family as NBC. That said, I have fond memories of the place,
including sleeping overnight during the Jerry Lewis Telethon and spinning
the Price Is Right wheel backstage (it wasn’t plugged in, so I was
compelled to voice the “boop boop boop” sounds myself).
