In the last week, Rodney Bewes, an actor famous for being one of the two stars of a BBC sitcom that aired 60s and 70s died*, and his co-star, James Bolam, was asked to talk about him. At one point in the interview I heard, the interviewer mentioned that there had been press reports 6 or 7 years ago that the pair didn't really talk any longer. Bolam politely pointed out that this is just the norm in acting and showbusiness. You do a gig for a few years, and then when it ends, you mostly tend to walk away from it onto other projects.
Certainly with the rise of fandom in the form of conventions etc, some actors especially from genre shows, might find themselves regularly meeting up for panels and events. But it's the nature of the business that those tight bonds tend to start and finish while the show's in production. Adam * I really wouldn't expect many on this list to know this name, or remember his big shows, The Likely Lads, and its sequel, Whatever Happened to the Likely Lads, since they were incredibly British and of their time, exploring the working man and class structure through comedy. Also, the leads were Geordie (from the North East of England) meaning that the accents might be a little tricky for an international audience. But let me know if I'm wrong!
