Patti Deutsch, an attractive redhead with a great deadpan, was a member of
the Ace Trucking Company troupe with Fred Willard (and Bill "Ya Doesn't
Have to Come Me Johnson" Saluga) and in a journeywoman career steadily did
a lot of guest shots, commercials, cartoon voices, etc., but was probably
best known for her appearances in the sixth slot on the panel on "Match
Game," alternating with Betty White, Fannie Flagg, Joyce Builfant and/or
Mary Wickes and coming up with a lot of offbeat responses, expertly
utilizing her deadpan (which sometimes included a vacant stare to the
audience)--she died Wednesday after a long battle with cancer:

The photo accompanying is from one of Ms. Deutsch's appearances on the
syndicated version of "What's My Line?," where Goodson-Todman first used
her before the Ace Trucking Company was founded, and if Goodson-Todman
liked you, you would be on as many of their shows as possible, including on
"Tattletales" with her screenwriter husband Donald Ross, who with his bald
head and huge moustache seemed to be the perfect fit for her.
