The interesting story is the fall of Fallon. For as long as I have been
watching late night shows I have never been able to sit through a whole
Tonight Show. Even though I was always a strong Dave partisan, I never had
that problem if there was something I wanted to see with Leno. When Fallon
and his style were called the future of late night I just figured my time
had passed and today's audience desires a fawning host and children's
birthday party games. Now it seems Fallon can't sustain an audience doing
that and Colbert's sharp takes are becoming more popular.
