After getting the in-person interview call, Cindy Stowell was diagnosed
with Stage IV cancer and six months per her doctors. She reached out to the
show and offered to pass up her spot for someone else if they couldn't slot
her pretty quickly after. After passing the audition, the show put her on
the next available taping day: August 31. She decided she would give any
winnings to cancer research charities.

She died Monday.
