I had mine in April. I'm sure it is painful but they give you a nice drug that does not so much knock you out as make you forget. I was left with a vague sense of violation. For both the prep and procedure it is more real and imagined humiliation than pain - try not to stress or worry; there are a lot worse things about getting old. Good luck with it
