I suspect that some of the comedy that didn't work will get cut (including Laura Benanti's Melania bit). What'll get left in is the opening (edited down), the two panels, Jeff Goldblum and Elle King's song (just to explain why she's there). And, of course, Colbert's closing statement, the best part of the show.
