I don't really have a problem with taping Friday's show on Thursday, but they should be smart enough not put a guest whose appearance is likely to be out of date on the delayed show. The alternative, a conversation that avoids those issues, is just as frustrating. > He mentioned it was episode 202 and end of Season 1. Given both CBS' investment in Colbert and what seem to me to be acceptable ratings*, I don't think he's in any danger of cancellation. As we've been discussing, the show doesn't seem to have hit its stride, nor does it seem to be interested in being as smart as it's capable of being. But that doesn't look like it's fatal. * I haven't paid much attention to ratings, so I'll defer to anyone who has, but I haven't seen anything that leads me to believe that the Late Show is doing badly enough for its future to be a concern. -- -- TV or Not TV ....
