I was at the RubberDucks/Thunder game on the 18th (the aforementioned 5-0 shutout); the Thunder didn't acquit themselves well that night, and the pace of game seemed slower than normal. We ended up leaving at the end of the 7th - although that was mostly to do with the oppressive heat and lack of any air movement.
I don't know that the Thunder are any better or worse than any other AA team out there...maybe not so much on the 18th, but I've been to 6 other games this season and it feels like the Thunder are as competitive as they can be. (It's also important to keep in mind that the roster is constantly changing - the starting line-up has changed radically since the start of the season.) And they must be doing something right - Gary Sanchez was the Thunder catcher for years, and he's currently the hottest thing going on the big-time Yankees. (Plus, all of the other players that have passed through Trenton over the years.) As for "Pitch"...the advertising must have been limited to certain nights, because I don't remember seeing any promos in the park.
