Saw mention of syndication in the Gladiators thread. Got me to thinking whether there are any syndicated dramas being produced, or is that money is now devoted to online distribution houses like Amazon & Netflix?
There was a time when some of the most-watched programing worldwide was produced specifically for first-run syndication. For better or worse, syndication gave us Baywatch, Star Trek: The Next Generation and Deep Space Nine, Babylon 5, and Hercules and Xena. Is syndicating dramas gone? I'm sure it is easier and cheaper to crank out a bazillion episodes of Judge Judy, but for the people whose viewing habits are not my mom's, I wish there were other options. -- Kevin M.
