Yes, Phyllis Coates was TV's original Lois Lane (and Joan Alexander voiced her in the radio series and both the Max Fleischer/Famous Studios animated films of the 40s and the Filmation series in the 60s), but Noel Neill originated the role on the screen in the 1948 serial "Superman" and replaced Coates after the first season of the iconic George Reeves series "The Adventures of Superman"--although she made 100 other films, mostly B pictures, she was identified with Lois for the rest of her life and made appearances in several other reboots or tributes to Superman, including Jerry Seinfield's web short "Hindsight is 20/20":
