that's a great article.   I have already known of the split-convert-encode
approach when they get new video content (search for "Netflix" and "aws"
[amazon web services] to see how they use the cloud to do all of it).

But this interaction of humans into the process to get the correct cultural
"funny" is interesting too.

Perhaps I should watch Chelsea.

side tidbit:  I watched Corden's most recent Karaoke which features a Jonas
brother.  He spoke of his other brothers hit song (Cake by the Ocean) with
band DNCE.   He said the song name came from a conversation the DNCE
brother had with a Swedish(?) person asking about   "what's that expression
you use?  Cake by the Ocean"  when he meant sex on the beach.   So the song
is about sex on the beach.
