We have been hearing for a while now that NBC is "Millionairing" The Voice and will pay the price when the bottom drops out. Last I looked Voice's ratings had faded, but were still pretty strong, even though it is on twice a week Fall and Spring. And it does seem to have done pretty well as a launching pad for new shows for NBC.
Given how flat-lined NBC was before it found its Voice, I have always thought they were best off milking it for all they could get out of it. And they (stumbled) upon a pretty good format, with two core stars that give it stability, and rotating in a stable of other stars for variety.
