I’d call him arrogant rather than ungracious. Maher is always arrogant; that’s his shtick.
I probably wouldn’t like him in real life, but I don’t have to like him in real life. His job is to entertain me, and that job he does well, better than anyone else in late nite TV. I just listened to the full interview (thanks, YouTube).
