While I'm sure they have the right to do so, I don't think this show
will take place in the TOS era. If I'm a betting man, I'd say this
show takes place after the events of the last original TNG adventure
"Nemesis". That allows them to have their own bit of patch to play
with in the Trek Prime universe that doesn't intersect or interfere
with the films.
