I’m going to give “Code Black” a try for no other reason than Marcia Gay Harden’s name in the credits. Likewise “Quantico,” because I like the storyline of a South Asian character fighting terrorism from the American side, and all the stereotyping that she’ll have to fight through to pull that off. ”going to give it a try,” while not necessarily hold out much hope for it.
On the flip side, I don’t think you could actually pay me to watch the new Ken Jeong show, based on the preview commercials I’ve seen. Other than those three examples, you and I have remarkably similar tastes in television entertainment. (*huge* Philip K. Dick fan here) Doug Fields Tampa, FL From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of PGage Sent: Tuesday, September 8, 2015 12:23 PM To: [email protected] Subject: [TV orNotTV] DVR-Worthy Fall 2015 TV? Each year I find I am paying even less attention than they year before to the new shows, and then I need to plan out my DVR strategy and resolve conflicts. I looked at a few "Best of" lists and then TV Guide's Comprehensive list (maybe too comprehensive, as some of those seem to already have been shelved). I probably left off some CW shows, and may be missing others. I need help: I will sample the "Definite" shows no matter what anyone here says, and unless I see overwhelming advice, nothing will probably get me to sample the "Definitely Not" ones. But I am open to feedback on the two intermediate categories. Especially interested in any shows that people think I am underestimating and might be worth moving up. Definite: The Man in the High Castle (Amazon) Minority Report (Wow - TWO Phillip K Dick shows this year? I am in!) Heroes Reborn Probably Yes: The Bastard Executioner Limitless The Muppets Blindspot Angel From Hell (mostly because I like Jane Lynch but found Glee unwatchable) Best Time Ever with Neil Patrick Harris Dr. Ken (only because someone in my family has a backdoor connection to Jeong) The Player (Hard for me to resist any show set in Vegas) Telenovela Wicked City (I have been hoping for an Anthology like "Police Story" to come back, so will check this out. Would really like the same core cast each week) You, Me and the End of the World (this is a mid-season entry, but wait, Rob Lowe is in two sitcoms this year?) Probably No: Quantico Supergirl Life In Pieces The Family The Frankenstein Code Game of Silence People Are Talking The Real O'Neals Rosewood Rush Hour Shades of Blue Superstore Definitely No "Scream Queens" Crazy Ex-Girlfriend" The Grinder The Catch Chicago Med Code Black Containment Crowded The Grinder The Guide to Surviving Life Heartbreaker Little Big Shots Lucifer Of Kings and Prophets Oil Uncle Buck You the Jury -- -- TV or Not TV ....
