I can't recall the last time I saw Leno do stand-up outside of the Tonight
Show. He does not host award shows, which is one way we might see that on
TV, and I have not gone to one of the 100 or so nights/year he apparently
does his act around town. I happened to be in Las Vegas for a few days in
July and saw he was at, I think, Ceasars. I considered it enough to
actually inquire about getting tickets, which I probably could have done,
but just couldn't make myself do it. I did used to love Leno's comedy when
he guested with Dave, and would like to think he still has enough of that
quality to make his non-Tonight Show stuff entertaining.

What has always been clear is that Jay Leno always comes across as a better
human being when you see him in any venue other than the Tonight Show (or,
in the case of that horrid Oprah interview, when he is not defending
himself about the Tonight Show).
