They talk about it without talking about it, if that makes sense. Instead of reporting the theories, they report on the public response in general, then under the guise of being unbiased feel obligated to include every crackpot. The scariest were a series of reports that Warner Bros orchestrated the shooting as a PR stunt... the same way they faked the Ledger suicide before the last film (their words, not mine).
