Use List comprehension:

animals = ["Dog", "Tiger", "SuperLion", "Cow", "Panda"]
animals_lol = [[animal, len(animal)] for animal in animals]
print(animals_lol)

[['Dog', 3], ['Tiger', 5], ['SuperLion', 9], ['Cow', 3], ['Panda', 5]]
