By far the easiest way into Android development is the AppInventor web site. http://ai2.appinventor.mit.edu Its a cloud based development tool based on Scratch but capable of generating standalone apps. It's a great way to become familiar with the Android event model. It also has an excellent web based tutorial. Once you have mastered that, moving into a more traditional development environment should be easier. (Although you may never need to since most apps are simplistic enough to be within the scope of AI.) Since this is a Python list we'll assume that means using Kivy.
