http://www.sqlcourse.com/ Its got a live SQL prompt so you can practice with their database and see the results. It seems fairly clearly written too. Caveat: I'#ve only gone through a few of the pages to check it out, I haven't followeed it to completion - and I already know SQL which always helps! But its best to get a book that focuses on the specific dialect used by your database in the longer term.
