Yes, it relies on KDE's Sonnet. If Sonnet is available on your
system and trojita has been compiled with sonnet support
(-DWITH_SONNET_PLUGIN=on in your cmake args), it should work
out of the box.
This may depend on your Sonnet setup, but on my system, the
spellchecker auto-detects the language on a
sentence-by-sentence basis. So I can mix languages to some
degree and get multi-lingual spellchecking (& correction
suggestions, by right-clicking).
