Listing stuff below mailbox Failed: Server error: LOGINDISABLED
but no STARTTLS capability. The login is effectively disabled
entirely.
Is there a possibility to make Trojita connet to the server in
some way, or dowes that mean, I can't use the server without
configuring any TLS stuff on a local machine?
Hi Andreas, this means that your IMAP server is misconfigured (and that
Thunderbird is buggy, apparently). The IMAP server keeps saying "no, do not
login now, I will reject your credentials" (that's the LOGINDISABLED
thing), Trojita sees that and stops the process.
You have three options:
1) Configure Cyrus to allow insecure cleartext logins over a local
connection. Google returns something about "allowplaintext" in imapd.conf;
I have no idea if it's correct/supported.
2) Configure TLS support in Cyrus.
3) Configure Trojita to talk to your IMAP server over a locally launched
process. I have no clue if Cyrus supports it. With Dovecot, it's usually
just a matter of launching /usr/libexec/dovecot/imap. A benefit of this
method is that you won't have to mess with auth credentials at all.
(Andreas is not on the list, please Cc him on replies.)
Cheers,
Jan
