I'm very interested in this project as I get a LOT of e-mail (2000
messages/day between work and home e-mail is not unusual), I have some
archive mail folders with >250,000 messages in them. My high volume mail
is all on Cyrus IMAP servers, so I've got a lot of good IMAP support
available, but most GUI clients do a horrible job of dealing with mail.
mulberry mail does a fairly good job, but it was unmaintained for many
years before being opened and is still almost impossible for anyone to
compile with free tools (it was initially built with a proprietary
toolchain)
I typically use pine (now alpine) to deal with this mail volume, which
works fairly well but has limitations.
Trojita looks like it's a good start, but I've got a couple of questions
First, and the biggest one, what keyboard shortcuts are defined (and how
do I find them)
Second, is there a way to eliminate the preview pane? If I've got a spammy
message that I want to delete, I don't like the idea of it being opened in
the process of clicking on it to delete it.
I also tend to want to have a larger chunk of index data available than I
can get with the preview pane (even in wide mode, too much width is taken
up.
Third, I love the debugging windows, and especially like the fact that
they can be pulled out of the main GUI, but unfortunantly they are always
on top of the main GUI. It would be nice if I could have them peeking out
behind the GUI for me to keep an eye on, without them being in the way.
This looks like a good start, and I'm going to regularly grab updates with
git and see how things are progressing.
