Hi, I've been talking with Dave B. and Suresh about some questions regarding our movement from hbase 0.94.6 support to hbase 0.98.
The DTM team has been asked to try to support hbase-trx on hbase 0.98, targeting the September release. With that in mind, we've been focusing on making changes and are starting to test with Hortonworks HDP 2.1. It is our understanding that Cloudera does not yet support hbase 0.98. We also understand that we have several POC customers now in the pipeline. Several of them, may be running on Cloudera and would wish to remain on Cloudera. This leads us to two questions. The first is release management. Will we be supporting both hbase 0.94.6 and hbase 0.98 releases starting in September (or when we are ready to release)? The second leads to thread management. If we would like to start managing our changes in git for DTM and SQL, where is the best place to do that? Do we want these changes to be public or private until we are ready to have a tested release? We are ready to start creating a thread for team integration of our migrated features. Understanding the Trafodion release and thread management plans would be very helpful. Thanks much, Joanie
