Public bug reported: After configuring screen energy saving in KDE, I noticed that after DPMS standby, my screen brightness is set to maximum. This is confirmed by `cat /sys/class/backlight/intel_backlight/brightness`. The problem can be easily reproduce by switching to standby manually using `xset dpms force standby`.
Steps to reproduce: 1) echo "300" | sudo tee /sys/class/backlight/intel_backlight/brightness 2) cat /sys/class/backlight/intel_backlight/brightness This will report: 300 3) xset dpms force standby 4) Move mouse/press key 5) cat /sys/class/backlight/intel_backlight/brightness This will report 937 ProblemType: Bug DistroRelease: Ubuntu 15.10 Package: xorg 1:7.7+7ubuntu4 ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 4.1.0-3.3-generic 4.1.3 Uname: Linux 4.1.0-3-generic x86_64 ApportVersion: 2.18-0ubuntu7 Architecture: amd64 CurrentDesktop: KDE Date: Sat Aug 29 21:26:27 2015 InstallationDate: Installed on 2015-08-10 (20 days ago) InstallationMedia: Kubuntu 15.10 "Wily Werewolf" - Alpha amd64 (20150809) ProcEnviron: TERM=xterm-256color PATH=(custom, no user) XDG_RUNTIME_DIR=<set> LANG=en_US.UTF-8 SHELL=/bin/bash SourcePackage: xorg UpgradeStatus: No upgrade log present (probably fresh install) ** Affects: xorg (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: amd64 apport-bug wily -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Touch seeded packages, which is subscribed to xorg in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1490229 Title: Brightness set to maximum after DPMS standby Status in xorg package in Ubuntu: New Bug description: After configuring screen energy saving in KDE, I noticed that after DPMS standby, my screen brightness is set to maximum.
