indicator-sound already has code to do this. Unity needs to tell the sound indicator that the menu is visible by setting the "indicator-shown" action state to true.
This is why it works in Unity 7 -- if you go to the Unity 7 desktop, pull down the sound menu, and drag the slider, you don't get an information notification. ** Package changed: indicator-network (Ubuntu) => indicator-sound (Ubuntu) ** Also affects: unity8 (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Changed in: indicator-sound (Ubuntu) Status: New => Invalid -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Touch seeded packages, which is subscribed to indicator-sound in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1484126 Title: [Indicators] Volume notification unnecessary when adjusting volume slider Status in Ubuntu UX: Fix Committed Status in indicator-sound package in Ubuntu: Invalid Status in unity8 package in Ubuntu: New Bug description: Current situation: Go to Sound section of indicators, drag volume slider.
