Title: Packages with different architecture than the system's force-installed do not show up in Synaptic Status in APT: Fix Released Status in apt package in Ubuntu: Fix Released Bug description: Binary package hint: synaptic I'm running amd64 Ubuntu. I have an i386 deb package "linuxqq" downloaded from the vendor. Since "Gdebi" does not accept packages of the wrong architecture, I used the command line "dpkg -i --force- architecture [package].deb" to install it. The problem is that it does not show up in Synaptic as "local or obsolete packages". Its presence in the system can only be shown by the "dpkg -l" command.
