Public bug reported: Ubuntu carries 'no_jit_ppc64el.patch' in the debian/patches directory. As the name suggests, this patch disables JIT on ppc64 little-endian. This used to be necessary because JIT was broken on little endian.
However, JIT on ppc64 little endian has been supported in pcre3 since version 8.35 (see http://www.pcre.org/original/changelog.txt - point 19 for version 8.35). Given that Ubuntu has shipped 8.35 since Utopic, this patch should now be dropped. ** Affects: pcre3 (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Touch seeded packages, which is subscribed to pcre3 in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1458416 Title: JIT unnecessarily disabled on ppc64le Status in pcre3 package in Ubuntu: New Bug description: Ubuntu carries 'no_jit_ppc64el.patch' in the debian/patches directory.
