Public bug reported: Since Spring (Austral) 2024 Paraguay defined that its timezone will be GMT-3 all the year, no more PYST.
Now all the clocks in ubuntu (desktop, servers) are wrong for America/Asuncion timezone. So I think we need to update with the latest tzdata, 2025b as per https://www.iana.org/time-zones This was already updated in Debian can be checked in the following links https://salsa.debian.org/glibc-team/tzdata/-/blob/bullseye/southamerica?ref_type=heads#L1737 https://linuxsecurity.com/advisories/deblts/debian-lts-dla-4085-1-tzdata-new-timezone-database-ugyhlnfj4biu official publication https://silpy.congreso.gov.py/web/expediente/132531 https://www.gacetaoficial.gov.py/index/detalle_publicacion/89723 ProblemType: Bug DistroRelease: Ubuntu 24.04 Package: tzdata 2024b-0ubuntu0.24.04.1 ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 6.8.0-55.57-generic 6.8.12 Uname: Linux 6.8.0-55-generic x86_64 ApportVersion: 2.28.1-0ubuntu3.5 Architecture: amd64 CasperMD5CheckResult: pass CurrentDesktop: XFCE Date: Mon Mar 24 09:56:17 2025 InstallationDate: Installed on 2024-10-21 (154 days ago) InstallationMedia: Xubuntu Minimal 24.04.1 LTS "Noble Numbat" - Release amd64 (20240827) PackageArchitecture: all SourcePackage: tzdata UpgradeStatus: No upgrade log present (probably fresh install) ** Affects: tzdata (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: amd64 apport-bug noble -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Touch seeded packages, which is subscribed to tzdata in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/2104015 Title: Paraguay timezone information is outdated Status in tzdata package in Ubuntu: New Bug description: Since Spring (Austral) 2024 Paraguay defined that its timezone will be GMT-3 all the year, no more PYST.
