Ubuntu 14.04 (trusty) reached end-of-life on April 25,2019. The upstream report moved to: https://gitlab.freedesktop.org/xorg/driver/xf86-video-ati/-/issues/149 but has not seen any activity for more than five years now.
As this issue has sat incomplete for nearly six years without any response I'm closing it as "Invalid".
