Public bug reported: Ubuntu Mate 20.10 - Release 20.10 (Groovy Gorilla) 64-bit - Kernel Linux 5.8.0-43-generic x86_64 - MATE 1.24.1 - gdebi 0.9.5.7+nmu3
Tried installing 3 downloaded .deb packages: - onlyoffice-desktopeditors_amd64.deb - opera-stable_74.0.3911.107_amd64.deb - Simplenote-linux-2.6.0-amd64.deb In all instances, after gdebi displays a window saying that additional packages will be installed and then asks for a password, it just disappears with no messages and the packages are not installed. Installing the packages using "sudo dpkg -i" in the terminal successfully installed these packages. gdebi in Ubuntu Mate 20.10 seems broken. ** Affects: gdebi (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Touch seeded packages, which is subscribed to gdebi in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1915526 Title: GDebi disappears with no messages on Mate 20.10 Status in gdebi package in Ubuntu: New Bug description: Ubuntu Mate 20.10 - Release 20.10 (Groovy Gorilla) 64-bit - Kernel Linux 5.8.0-43-generic x86_64 - MATE 1.24.1 - gdebi 0.9.5.7+nmu3 Tried installing 3 downloaded .deb packages: - onlyoffice-desktopeditors_amd64.deb - opera-stable_74.0.3911.107_amd64.deb - Simplenote-linux-2.6.0-amd64.deb In all instances, after gdebi displays a window saying that additional packages will be installed and then asks for a password, it just disappears with no messages and the packages are not installed.
