Title:
No sound in the front jack in the installed version
Status in alsa-driver package in Ubuntu:
Expired
Bug description:
Hello,
I've just installed Ubuntu 10.04 and there is no sound in the front jack. The
sound works fine in the back jack.
The problem is that the front jack works fine from the live CD. I have
done some tests, and all the sound modules (snd*) are the same in the
live CD and in the installed version, all the parameters (modinfo) are
the same too, but the front jack only works in the Live CD.
The only difference that I see from the live version from the
installed one, is that the live version has some modules that are not
loaded in the installed version. They are: aufs, dm_crypt, dm_raid45,
drm, drm_kms_helper, fat, isofs, nls_cp437, nls_iso8859_1, nouveau,
squashfs, ttm, vfat, xor. But I think that these modules are not
related to sound issues.
The installed version has the nvidea module, but the sound also wasn't
working before the installation of the nvidea driver.
My motherboard is asus M2N68. This problem occurs not only with the
2.6.32-23-generic kernel but also with the 2.6.32-21-generic kernel
(the live version uses the 2.6.32-21 version)
The output of the alsa-info.sh script can be found in:
Live version:

I can send more information to investigate this bug.
Cheers,
Pedro
