Same happened with me after upgrade to 14.10. I've tried this (with no success):
* Logging in as a guest user * Uninstalling nvidia driver (using noveau instead). * Using GDM instead of lightdm -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Touch seeded packages, which is subscribed to unity in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1361836 Title: Cannot click on anything Status in Unity: New Status in “unity” package in Ubuntu: Confirmed Bug description: When I start a unity 7 session in utopic, the system switches to my previously defined configuration for external monitors, then stops accepting input. I can move the mouse across both displays, but I cannot click on anything, and keyboard shortcuts don't seem to bring up anything either. Sometimes the cursor changes to the hand or the arrow for resizing a window, and sometimes if I click I get the spinning cursor.
