Workaround: Goto /etc/ssh/ssh_config Uncomment the line: Ciphers aes128-ctr,aes192-ctr,aes256-ctr,arcfour256,arcfour128,aes128-cbc,3des-cbc This seems to limit the number of ciphers in use. Also seems to be a known problem with "certain" configurations of openssh client and server.
