Title:
Save dialog exhibits unhelpful behaviour after opening a folder
Status in gtk+2.0 package in Ubuntu:
Confirmed
Bug description:
Binary package hint: openoffice.org
Steps to recreate:
1. Start a new document in oowriter.
2. Open the save dialog with CTRL-S or File->Save.
3. Change folder (e.g. by double-clicking a visible folder).
4. Start typing the name you want to allocate to this file.
As you start typing the filename one would expect it to appear in the
Name field of the Save dialog (as it would have had you not changed
folder in Step 3.) - however, instead it appears in a strange
unlabelled pop-up field (which I assume to be a search field of the
current directory). When you have finished typing your filename, and
it has not matched any of the existing files in the directory, you
press return, and the filename you have typed disappears forever (when
the expected behaviour is to save to the new filename you have just
typed.)
[Almost certainly an upstream issue, but I can't navigate the
labyrinthine OO bug-reporting procedure, so I'll note it here for
now.]
