It is just  a standard normal perl script.   (Not any compiled version or 
anything like that).
You can see the content of mkrsrc on the machine.

If it is incompatible, the question is why any perl scripts may become 
incompatible with new perl?
Could you explain what is causing it?

If there is any syntax error, perl should generate an error not failing.
