Public bug reported: s390x qemu vt220 terminal, tput cols and lines is reported as 80x24, whilst that's not true.
The number of columns is semi-true, as the shell wraps them, however, one can print things beyond 80 cols. Ideally resizing qemu window, should manage to report the actual number of lines and columns to the underlying terminal. Similarly, one should be able to resize ASCII terminal window in HMC beyond 80x24. These days everyone has HD widescreen monitors, there is no reason to limit to 80x24. ** Affects: linux (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Affects: ncurses (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Affects: qemu (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Attachment added: "Screenshot from 2018-11-23 03-31-40.png" https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1804748/+attachment/5215498/+files/Screenshot%20from%202018-11-23%2003-31-40.png ** Also affects: linux (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Also affects: qemu (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Touch seeded packages, which is subscribed to ncurses in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1804748 Title: s390x qemu vt220 terminal, tput cols and lines is wrong Status in linux package in Ubuntu: New Status in ncurses package in Ubuntu: New Status in qemu package in Ubuntu: New Bug description: s390x qemu vt220 terminal, tput cols and lines is reported as 80x24, whilst that's not true.
