Hello Pomah,
Thank you for submitting this bug and reporting a problem with cups and
printing in gedit/evince. You made this bug report some time ago and Ubuntu
and cups have been updated since then.
Could you confirm that this is no longer a problem and that we can close the
ticket?
If it is still a problem, are you still interested in finding a solution to
this bug?
If you are, could you let us know and, in the current version, could you run
the following (only once):
apport-collect 1083310
and upload the updated logs and and any other logs that are relevant for this
particular issue.
Thank you again for helping make Ubuntu and cups better.

Title:
cups returns malformed UTF-8
Status in cups package in Ubuntu:
Incomplete
Bug description:
This is Ubuntu 12.04, libcups2 1.5.3-0ubuntu4.
I noticed gedit and evince were crashing whenever I opened the print
dialog. I'm attaching an example stack trace from gedit.
Eventually I traced the bug to CUPS. gedit crashes in GTK+ code when
trying to process an invalid UTF-8 string starting with "Параметры,
разрешенн". That string comes from my PPD file (will attach), and its
byte length coincides with the size of ppd_group_t::text in CUPS,
which means that it's being improperly truncated within CUPS.
