Title:
Cups duplex printing possible through ipp but not through samba
Status in cups package in Ubuntu:
Incomplete
Bug description:
Binary package hint: cups
I have a perculiar problem. I have a small file/print Ubuntu server
running jaunty (9.04) with an HP Laserjet 1320 printer attached with a
built-in duplex unit. The printer is shared via samba (smb://...). If
the client uses the smb:// URI to print to this printer, duplex
printing does not work. If I define the queue as an ipp:// one it
works. Can't figure this out.
Clients are Ubuntu Karmic desktops. With Jaunty on the desktops, this
issue did not arise.
