As already asked by Jean-Baptiste, could you give us more info on whether the installation has been done in UEFI or legacy BIOS mode? Is it broken for both cases? We did have a new grub2 released quite recently which might have potentially some effect here - but I am also unable to reproduce the issue when installing on a VM (tried ubuntu- server though). Let me check ubuntu-desktop maybe.
