Public bug reported: A fresh Ubuntu 16.04 server install...
cron starts twice every boot. It has been running for a while but I have made no changes to cron since the fresh install, other than installing some crontabs. The first cron show systemd as its parent. The second cron shows Upstart as its parent. To work around I have disable the Upstart process: $ sudo update-rc.d cron disable This results in some jobs running around 30 times, I assume due to some sort of race condition between the two crons.
