Sorry that you only just got attention to this problem. Did you type anything before the choice entry because sometimes I type accidentally a character before the choice entry and I type 'y' in and press Enter and it says Abort.' But I realise that I accidentally type a character before.

This happened to me rarely, maybe 1 time out of 20, but I'm not sure. It may be a random behaviour. Unfortunately, there's no log of this faulty behaviour in /var/log/apt/term.log, but here's an example: sudo apt-get dist-upgrade ... ... ... Do you want to continue? [Y/n] y exiting.
